Course Loads
Persons with learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, traumatic brain injuries, memory problems and/or those with frequent health-related absences should plan to spend more than two years working towards their degree. It may also be recommended they carry less than a full time credit hour load. This does not necessarily affect funding. Federal Pell grants are available for half and three quarter time course loads, as well as full time, although the actual amount is reduced in proportion to the load carried. Other funding sources, such as vocational rehabilitation or veteran's affairs also often agree to work with the disabled student taking a reduced load.
