DISABILITY SERVICES
Welcome to the Office of Disability Services (DS) at Lake City Community College!
Did you know that forty-six (46%) percent of all students with disabilities enrolled at two-year and four-year post-seondary institutions reported have learning disabilities? (Source: National Center for Education Statistics, 2000).
Lake City Community College and Disability Services welcome all qualified students with disabilities. The college is committed to provide equity in the educational environment for students with disabilities.
Disability Services coordinates appropriate accommodations for credit programs in compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American with Disabilities Act. The mission of this office and its staff is to provide students with disabilities an equal opportunity to participate in the college's programs and services.
Students with disabilities attending Lake City Community College will be integrated within the college community. Students earning an ESE diploma have limited program options available to them; however, specialized programs for people with severe learning limitations are not available at the college. All students, including those with disabilities, are subject to the conditions outlined in the college catalog and the student handbook.
The Office of Disability Services is located in room 130 of Building 15. Our phone number is 386-754-4393, the fax number is 386-754-4715, or e-mail us at disabilities@lakecitycc.edu

If you have had difficulty in school before and/or believe you may have a disability, make an appointment with the Coordinator, Disabled Student Services as soon as possible.
Important:
It is the student's responsibility to inform Lake City Community College about their disability if they want accommodations or services.
The student must take an active role in communicating with their instructors and support professionals.
