POSITION TITLE: IT Application Specialist
POSITION NO.: 09-0029
The City of Lake City is accepting applications for the position
of IT Application Specialist.
This is a responsible technical position in the planning, trouble
shooting and implementation of software applications on any of the
City's computer platforms. Of primary concern will be all general
accounting and financial, proprietary systems, antivirus and
security applications to insure proper and smooth operations of the
City. Work is performed under the general direction of the IT
Director.
This position Provides support to user departments in the operation and processing of on-going business applications; assists in the analysis, acquisition, modification, design and installation of application systems and in the preparation of the Information Systems Budget. This person is responsible for user liaison and project control, providing primary link between user and computer resources, the development of short term status reports for current projects with resource allocations, assists departments in the development of user groups and addresses under department training needs, provides technical assistance and support to user departments, back up to GIS, Website Administration and E-mail Administration.
Applicant must have knowledge of general written standards and procedures utilized, and have the ability read, interpret, and follow procedural and policy manual related to the job tasks, mid-range hardware systems, LAN's, various mid-range software, Anti-Virus and midrange programming languages, software systems in use by the City helpful. Must be able to respond to supervision, guidance and direction of superiors in appositive, receptive manner and in accordance with stated policies, ability to train users and IT Staff, skill in operating PC, networking, terminals, AS400 interface, etc.
Applicant must have graduated from an accredited four-year college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field. Five (5) years experience as a systems analyst or project leader with experience in the design, development, installation and implementation of computer systems. (A comparable amount of training, education and experience can be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
Applicant must have a valid Florida Driver's License and must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen.
