Introduction from Patty Anderson, SACS Chairperson
| SACS is a term you will be hearing a lot in the coming year. It stands for Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. Their mission is to improve education in the south through accreditation. This will force us to take a hard look at ourselves and discover our strengths and weaknesses. There will be changes over the next several years. These will be positive changes and Lake City Community College will be a better place for us all. This will take an effort from all of us. |

| QEP is another term you will hear a lot in the coming year. It stands for Quality Enhancement Plan. We will come up with a course of action that directly relates to improving student learning. Once we decide what our QEP will be, it will require all of us to carry out our plan and be successful. Our students will benefit the most from a well developed QEP. |

| The initial committee structure for SACS has been approved and we are getting organized. Many will be called upon at some point in the process to be involved. The next couple of years will be a process of growing and getting stronger. We are excited about the process and look forward to a better campus for us all. |
