RIE Mission
The mission of the Department of Research and Institutional Effectiveness is to improve the effectiveness of the college through strategic planning, research, evaluation, and the use of information/data to guide decisions and actions.

RIE Services
The services provided by RIE include strategic planning assistance, data management, data analysis, program evaluation, and research. The department coordinates the college program review process; and serves as the primary respondent to information requests by the FL Division of Community Colleges (DCC), agencies of the federal government, and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).

The Department of Research and Institutional Effectiveness (RIE) is under the supervision of the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services. The department and its activities are directly connected to the Institutional Effectiveness Committee (IEC) by a common goal of improving the effectiveness of the college as a whole. The connection between the two entities is reinforced by the RIE director serving as the chairperson of the IEC. The Coordinator of Planning and Accreditation serves as chairperson of the IEC Accreditation Subcommittee. These connections allow for a high level of coordination between the IEC and RIE.
