OFF-CAMPUS STUDIES AND DISTANCE LEARNING
If you are a student enrolled in an LCCC class in Baker, Dixie, Union, or Gilchrist County, or if you are a distance learning student taking a course from the college over the Internet, library services remain important to you and critical to your success. You should know that we have negotiated cooperative agreements with the public libraries in each of the above counties, as well as with Columbia County and the VA Medical Center Library. You may use those facilities to acquire reserve materials that your instructor may place there, or use that public library’s Internet access to reach our library information databases. Presently on the World Wide Web we are at:
http://www.linccweb.org/
At this site you may access the catalogs of our college and the other twenty-seven community colleges in Florida, as well as the First Search collection of more than 60 online information databases, the Encyclopedia Britannica online, and others. The database selection is dynamic and changes with each year of state funding, but you can count on it being a wealth of information resources. You may access it with a valid barcode number, attached to your library card or student ID. If you are enrolled at another site and do not come to campus, and you need a barcode number, call us at 386-754-4400/1401, or you may write to the Learning Resources Center, Lake City Community College, 149 College Pl, Lake City, Florida 32025. Or, you may e-mail Lynnda White, library circulation, at whitel@lakecitycc.edu for assistance.
