PHY 2048C General Physics with Calculus I (5 credits, 4 hours lecture - demonstration, 3 hour lab)
Mechanics of solids, liquids, and gases, heat, and mechanical waves. Laboratory correlated with lectures. Recommended for transfer students in engineering and physical sciences with a calculus background. Lab fee. Prerequisite: MAC 2311. Corequisite: MAC 2312.
PHY 2049C General Physics with Calculus II (5 credits, 4 hours lecture, 3 hour lab)
Electricity and magnetism, light, optics, atomic physics, nuclear physics, solid state theory, and other assorted topics. Laboratory correlated with lectures. Lab fee. Prerequisite: PHY 2048C or permission of instructor.
PHY 2053C General Physics I (4 credits, 6 hours lecture - demonstration, lab)
First course in fundamental principles of physics, with applications in life sciences, forestry, agriculture, etc. Includes mechanics of solids, liquids, and gases, and heat. Laboratory work integrated with lecture. Recommended for prepro-fessional transfer students who do not intend to major in physical sciences. Lab fee. Prerequisite: MAC 1105 or a higher mathematics course.
PHY 2054C General Physics II (4 credit, 6 hours lecture - demonstration, lab)
Continuation of PHY 2053C, includes mechanical waves, electricity and magnetism, and optics. Lab fee. Prerequisite: PHY 2053C.
