Gift Giving Opportunities

A variety of gift giving opportunities are available through the Foundation. Often, donations can be matched from 67-100%, enhancing the value of the private contribution. Gifts may be made in the following manner and are tax deductible.

  • Contributions may be made in the form of cash, stocks, bonds or other securities, donation of property, real estate or other items of value.
  • Designation of the LCCC Foundation in your will.
  • Gifts to trust that provide a stream of income and a tax deduction for the donor.
  • Designating the Foundation as beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
  • Funding an annual or endowed scholarship or other fund.
  • Donations may be designated for a program or area of interest, or made in honor or memory of a loved one or friend.

Endowments are a wonderful way to provide perpetual benefit for LCCC students and to honor or remember a loved one or friend by naming the endowment for him or her. The minimum required for an endowed fund is $25,000 which may include matching funds if available.

Scholarships

Thanks to the generosity of many individuals, organizations and businesses, a variety of student scholarships are offered annually. Scholarships are offered in specific program areas and for general programs. A scholarship publication and application are published in February each year for the following fall and spring scholarships. The application deadline is typically in late March or early April.

Scholarship publications are available in February in the LCCC library, financial aid office, the foundation office and various locations on campus.

Take Stock in Children

Lake City Community College Foundation, in partnership with area public schools, purchases two and four year pre-paid tuition scholarships for at-risk youth who plan to attend Lake City Community College. Students must stay drug and crime free, maintain passing grades and adhere to the school code of conduct. Students are selected at the end of their eighth grade year and if they successfully meet the criteria all four years, are awarded a scholarship to Lake City Community College. Donations to this program are usually matched 100%.
