What is FACC?

An organization that represents all faculty, staff, administrators, and retirees from the 28 public community colleges in Florida. It consists of local campus-based chapters, commissions and regions, and a Board of Directors. Membership is currently over 7000 and moving upward.

Why is membership important?

There is a direct relationship between the membership numbers and the strength and effectiveness of FACC. The primary mission at the state level is advocacy of community college issues before the Legislature and other government entities.

What are some of the benefits to being a member?

Besides taking an active role in college and community events, fund-raisers, and services, members enjoy discounts to various companies, including Avis and Alamo car rentals, Anheuser-Busch theme parks, Six Flags, Universal Studios, and Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom.

What is the cost of being a member?

Fees are based on annual salary. For an annual salary less than $30,000, the annual fee is $35. For a salary over $30,000, it is $40. Adjunct and part-time personnel pay $10 annually, as do retirees. If you are a contributing or honorary life member, there is no fee. Fees are most often paid by way of paycheck deduction.

How can I become a member?

Contact our chapter President, Kerry Hagler, at 754-4330 or Toni Briley, membership committee chair, at 754-4334 for an application. Click here for a membership application.

Where can I read more about FACC?

The official publication of the FACC is called the Current and it is distributed to each FACC member through the individual chapters. Visit www.facc.org to learn about our organization.
