ARTICULATION INTO EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIAN - BASIC (EMT-B) PROGRAM
Upon successful completion of the Advanced First Responder Certificate Program and graduation from Bell High School, students 18 years and older may take the National Registry Certification examiniation through the testing department at LCCC, which has been approved as a test site by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians.
Graduates of Bell High School will be accepted into the EMT-B Program at the EMS 1112 level for a period of up to one year after completion of the Advanced First Responder Certificate Program. College credit for EMS 1111 will be awarded upon successful completion (grade of C or better) of EMS 1112.
Emergency Medical Technology - Basic is a one semester (16 week) program, that is offered in spring and fall, prepares the student for employment as an emergency medical technician functioning at the basic emergency care level. This program is approved by the Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services. The curriculum adheres to the latest U. S. DOT EMT -B National Standard Curriculum. Upon completion, students are eligible to take the Nationa Registry of EMTs certification exam which is recognized in 39 states including Florida. This course is a prerequisite for paramedic training.
