Distance Learning
- Lake City Community College distance learning students can
choose to access reliable resources to assist them in their college
course work. Although you may be at a distance, you can still
e-mail and call our Reference Librarian for assistance, have books
delivered to a library near you, and also have access to full-text
articles and electronic full-text books through the Library's
databases.
We have designed an online orientation that will help you become
familiar with these resources. Please take advantage of this
orientation so that your assignments will reflect that you know how
to access "peer-reviewed" journals and information not found on the
internet. Not only will you find these databases reliable
(unlike many resources you may find through search engines on the
Interent!), but you will find that you can access your information
more quickly! Library Orientation.
- The Florida Community College Distance Learning
Consortium. This site contains a multitude of resources for
students seeking online or distance learning opportunities.

- The Distance Learning Reference and Referral Center. It
provides reference services to distance learners enrolled in
courses offered by Florida's colleges and universities. The
RRC's professional librarian answers questions and offers a nubmer
of library referrals for distance learners. www.lib.usf.edu/distance
